FHN SCRIMMAGES:
ROCKFORD HIGH SCHOOL
A Snow filled game resulted in a Rockford squeezing out 2-1 victory. Rockford scored on 2 of their only 3 shots on goal while FHN managed to out play Rockford most of the game while scoring only 1 of their 7 shots. Sophomore, Teigan Mitcham scored the lone goal, while skimming the cross bar on another chance. Freshman, Ally Kiekover made the play of the game. Coming off her line, Ally stopped what was a Rockford break away at the top of the box. Possibly the benefit of a snow covered field, and making the stop outside of where the penalty box was.
FRASER HIGH SCHOOL
Playing a near flawless game (for what the conditions were), FHN out hustled, out possessed, and out played the Division 1 team from the East side of the state. It was however Fraser that got the lone goal of the game, scoring on their only shot, and really the only time they passed mid-field by themselves. FHN managed 3 shots on a very stingy and a packed defense that Fraser showed throughout the game. Fraser brought a lot of energy and was a great test for FHN.
HASTINGS HIGH SCHOOL
Playing without several key players, FHN was able to sneak in two goals on the Saxons. FHN placed several shots on goal, but the Saxons goalkeeper held strong. FHN also missed on three or four breakaways. The Saxons defense also caused several offside calls, frustrating FHN throughout the game. Sophomore, Carly Belsito got the scoring touch started on a left footed shot near post from about 16 yards out. Teigan Mitcham also knotted her second goal of the day, by scoring on a break away with a nice placed shot back post.
