Kristiana the starting goalkeeper for the Huskies entered the game and within 30 seconds scored her goal on another assist from Maria Rich. Ally Kiekover would quickly replace Grffith on the front line and received a pass across the box from Brenna Sellman and placed it into the back of the net. “Brenna is the reason for that goal” Bogart stated. Sellman made a run down the right wing and Senior Andrea Byl hit her with a great through ball. Sellman collected the ball and cut towards goal and placing the ball across the box to a wide open Kiekover.
Freshman Lindsay Rich would get on the score board to up the lead to 9-0 when she developed a great give and go play with senior Andrea Byl. Olivia Griffith took the free kick and simply slotted the ball to Sellman who just opened up and placed the ball back post. Sellmans goal would come with 6 minutes left in the first half and was the end of scoring for the Huskies.
“It’s the type of game that you hate to coach. There really is nothing being accomplished and you have to balance playing time with risk of injury.” Bogart stated. The Huskies, now 7 and 3 on the season head back on the road Monday, when they travel to Comstock Park for an early 4:00pm start time. The Huskies next home game is next Wednesday, May 5th vs. West Catholic.
